Doug’s Fine Art Annual Holiday Sale

Ok, what happens once a year and comes to your door gently in a box, was handcrafted by someone far away, and has the ability to bring a whole new energy to any room in your place?   And no, Santa or his little unpaid elf interns (highly illegal operation??) didn’t go crafty on it in the North Pole.   How about. . . my annual Holiday Clearance Sale! Yippee! (the crowd goes wild and confetti and orange winged-unicorns pour from the skies).

Every year I take a careful look at my surplus inventory of fine art work, and offer it through a personal website for rock bottom dollars.  Don’t believe it?   How about a handmade print self-produced in a color darkroom that has sold in galleries for $250 offered for only $30! It’s nuts.

I decided long ago that having a warehouse full of prints from past adventures wasn’t a life goal.   I want the prints to be bought for appreciation, given as gifts, and be lively and bright out there in the world.   They range from laboriously produced black and white silver gelatin prints in the darkroom to small square digital prints of my best works.   The pricing bounces from $9.99 to $199 for a giant 20″ x 20″ canvas print of a grafitti scene found on train tracks that cross the historic Charles River in Boston.

The collection of clearance photos featured in the sale range from street scenes in New Hampshire and Maine to gallant adventures along the beaches of Costa Rica and the colors of Cuba.   I have a special place in my being with film photography and let my wanderlust guide me for miles on end.  For approach, I simply tote a modest little bag of manual camera equipment and give in to scenes that beg to be photographed.  It also helps that I almost always have a camera on me.

Don’t take my word on it though (Reading Rainbow theme in the background), zoom on below to the fine art site and explore it for yourself!
