California’s Historic Mission San Miguel

I’m really excited about a new image.  It came out just as I thought it could, with my favorite black and white tonality and an ambiguity about meaning…

We were at one of the famed California missions, San Miguel, on the central coast, with amazing light, and hungry B&W film in the camera.  It was Katherine, close friend Kevin who was visiting from New England, whom I’ve been friends with since the third grade, and myself.  As we grazed the grounds, there was this section of green and purple cacti to the left of an old Spanish archway that led to a cemetery beside the church.  I took my last available frame on the roll of it…
